Understanding Results
Status Codes
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| OK | The target URL was found on the page with a valid dofollow link. This is the ideal result. |
| WARNING | The link exists but has issues that may affect SEO value. Check the issue codes for details. |
| ERROR | The target URL was not found on the page, or the page could not be accessed. |

Link Issues

|---|---|
link_not_found | The target URL was not found as a link on the page. The freelancer may not have added it. |
link_is_nofollow | The link has a rel="nofollow" attribute. Search engines won't pass SEO value through this link. |
link_not_html_tag | The URL appears in the page text but not as a clickable HTML anchor tag. |
link_via_redirect | The link was found, but only after following a redirect from the original URL. |
redirect_is_nofollow | The link was found via redirect, but the redirect link has a nofollow attribute. |
redirect_blocked_by_robots | The redirect destination URL is blocked by the site's robots.txt file. |
Page Issues

page_is_noindex | The page has a noindex meta tag. Search engines won't index this page. |
page_is_js_rendered | The page uses heavy JavaScript rendering. The link may not be visible to search engines. |
page_blocks_bots | The page blocks search engine bots but allows regular browsers. |
blocked_by_robots | The entire page is blocked by the site's robots.txt file. |
Connection Errors

http_error_404 | Page not found. The URL may have been removed or never existed. |
http_error_500 | Server error. The website is experiencing technical problems. |
http_error_403 | Access forbidden. The page is blocking our requests. |
fetch_error | Could not connect to the server. The site may be down or unreachable. |
too_many_redirects | The URL has too many redirects (possible redirect loop). |
Browser Extension
The Backlink Checker Pro browser extension lets you validate backlinks directly from your browser. Right-click any page to check if it links to your target URL, or upload files without leaving your current tab.
The extension is available for Chrome and Firefox. Visit the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons page to install it. After installation, you'll see the Backlink Checker Pro icon in your browser toolbar.
Privacy & Data
Yes. We use HTTPS encryption for all communications. Your uploaded files and reports are processed securely and are only accessible to you via your unique session or installation ID.
Reports are retained for 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted. You can download PDF and CSV exports at any time before deletion to keep permanent records.
No. We never share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties. Your backlink data and reports are completely private.
